Relative Space at 2 Bond, now... open!
Berlin based architect Jürgen Mayer H was they keynote speaker at the third installment of the Relative Space Lecture series. Jürgen's work is spread throughout Europe and gaining momentum here in the states. It is beautiful stuff, as detailed in his monograph, J Mayer H, published by Hatje Cantz and available (autographed!) at our 2 Bond Street location. Andres Lepik, curator of Modern Architecture at MoMA, wrote the introduction to the monograph and also moderated at our event.
Architizer was involved in the afternoon & evening's festivities once more. Matthias and Co. met in our space for a few hours with a jury of architects (headed by Jürgen) and chose the winning project for Architizer's competition competition 2010. The winner was announced that night at our shop & on the website itself.
This time we also had an interactive art installation by SweatShoppe, they paint with light - and their work can be found in various museums, stadiums & on their website. The interactive portion comes when Bruno hands you the "roller" and YOU paint with light, loops & images.
Toby Maloney of Alchemy Consulting headed the bar for the evening, and our friends at Birch Coffee once again provided a unique menu of soups and finger foods, created with the cocktail selections in mind.
Check the event photos over at Guest of a Guest, who somehow worked a Brad Pitt reference into the evening's coverage & the AIA's blog, eOculus, got in on the -arium book release component of the nite.
As if that wasn't enough, we also worked with The Society NYC for this event. Check for some of the beautiful people that came out to hear Jürgen speak on the SmugMug site.
